The passing of Michael Wheeler

mike wheeler

It is with great sadness and apprehension that we mention the passing of Michael Wheeler.

On Saturday, the 26th April 2014, Michael died from the effects of a heart attack.

The impact of this loss, to family and friends, as well as the community of Lanzarote shall be far reaching. Mike the man, was a well liked and well loved person of the island and as a founder of SETTO, it is a time of immense sadness.

Jack talbot has announced: We will be celebrating the life of our good friend, Mike ‘the wheels’ Wheeler on Friday the 2nd May. We are holding a memorial service at the church in the old town, Pto del Carmen at 1 o clock and then having the wake at Lineker’s Bar on the Avenida de las Playas, Pto del Carmen. He gave so much of his time to the community, Friday will be our time to give him a good send off.

Travel well Mike, your loss will be felt for years to come

Rest in Peace

What a shock to learn of Mick’s death. I knew him for many years 35 years ago when he lived in Tonbridge, Kent. Memories of great party times with himself at his home then at Horns Lodge Farm and other venue, including the Rugby Club. Many times he looked out for people like myself when we had our crazy youth moments. Many people knew him, Sue F, Bill G, Guy P, Fiona W, Roger J, Joan, Karren & Willy, Denise W as some of the crowd. The last time I bumped into him was at Tonbridge Station 12 years ago when he told me about his language school in Lanzarote. God bless you Mick. You will always be remembered as a wonderful man xx
